What content should be included on my website about my services?
When you consider adding content to a medical or dental website, you should keep the following points in mind:
You should let people start their key tasks immediately
Send each person on the right path, effectively and efficiently
Most site visitors are on a hunt – a mission – and the pathway is just to get them there
People don’t want to read a lot while hunting
Focus on your essential messages, give people only what they need
What are your patients and potential patients looking for?
Directions to your practice
Are you accepting new patients
What are your payment terms
Information about the doctor
Information about specialized services
Is your practice modern or does it look like a worn-out shoe
Your content should be designed around the information a patient is seeking. They are not interested in reading a lot of
material about procedures and health conditions on your website. They can find that information on all the major
healthcare websites, so you shouldn’t try to compete with those sites. Instead, lead a patient to a website that contains
useful information about your practice and direct them to other resources that would be beneficial to them. If they need
additional information, you can provide it to them at the time of their appointment.
